Coles Moonee Ponds

A project 18 months in the making, Coles transformed its Moonee Ponds store into a flagship concept store. Involved from the briefing right up till completion and launch, I was the design lead on all elements implemented within the store. That ranged from semi-permanent signage ie: point-of-sale, to full front of store graphics, to store layout and flow, and to what colour the pillars were going to be painted - yes that’s how specific it was!
At this store we launched multiple new and innovative concepts. From grab-and-go meals – including pizza and Vietnamese street food – to a fishmonger, a pick-n-mix area including a smoothie station, to refill stations for cleaning and skincare products! Even trialing bagless produce so plastic doesn’t have to be used. With a load of new elements that customers may not have been exposed to, my role was to also come up with precise and effective ways that the Coles messaging could be presented.
The store was also the first store to implement Coles new sustainability strategy - Together to Zero and Better Together - which is Coles commitment to be exclusively powered on renewable energy by the end of 2025.
